Connect it to your agent
Claude Code
claude mcp add --scope user tokensaver -- tokensaver
Cursor, Claude Desktop, and other MCP clients
Cursor (~/.cursor/mcp.json), Claude Desktop (claude_desktop_config.json), and other MCP clients:
{
"mcpServers": {
"tokensaver": { "command": "tokensaver" }
}
}
If the client can't find it, use the absolute path, e.g. "command": "/Users/you/go/bin/tokensaver".
Docker
No binary on your machine? Run the image instead. -i is required — the server talks to your agent over stdin/stdout.
claude mcp add --scope user tokensaver -- docker run -i --rm ghcr.io/use-tokensaver/tokensaver
Other MCP clients:
{
"mcpServers": {
"tokensaver": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "ghcr.io/use-tokensaver/tokensaver"]
}
}
}
A container only sees what you give it. To read local files, mount a folder read-only ("-v", "/Users/you/docs:/docs:ro" before the image name) and ask for /docs/… paths. A dev server on your machine is host.docker.internal:3000, not localhost:3000.
